The Green Lowrider

December 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

H.O.M.E.Y., an organization focusing on inner city youth in the Mission District, is looking to build the first ever Green Lowrider.

That’s right – if all goes well, these bio-diesel rides, with organic based paints, hemp (and other organic materials) for upholstery  will be riding down 24th street in the summer of 2009.

The Low rider:

a little higher

a little slower,

a real  goer

and a lot greener!

Palin ain’t the only one trying to ban books. Some douche in Orestimba High School has banned Rudolfo Anaya’s Bless Me, Ultima

Rick Rauss, the douche in question, is the Supernintendo at Newman-Crows Landing Unified School District.

Said Fauss on having students read Anaya’s work, “Do we have to sacrifice the values of our families and our community to do that?”

Nah, just the 65% of Latino students that make up your district.

Did Feminism really help Proposition 8 pass?

Sing Out the Vote

Equipped with a pair of guitars and a slightly different version of the “mañanitas” song, members of the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA) woke up new voters early Tuesday morning as they made their last push to get out the vote.
